PMAY-G aims at providing a pucca house, with basic amenities, to all houseless households and those households living in kutcha and dilapidated houses, by 2022. The immediate objective is to cover 1.00 crore households living in a kutcha houses/dilapidated houses in three years from 2017-18 to 2020-21.

In DNH District total financial assistance of upto Rs. 2.65 Lakhs shall be given to the beneficiaries as detailed below:
 
a. Rs. 1.20 Lakhs as Central Share (as per the Government of India scheme PMAY-G).
b. The U.T. Administration also introduced the “TOP-UP scheme of PMAY-G” under which an amount of Rs. 1.20 lakhs for each beneficiary is provided for a better Dwelling Unit as a UT Share, in addition to Rs. 1.20 lakhs of Central Share under PMAY-G.
The fund is received under the budget head “2216 Housing, 03 Rural Housing, 03 Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana”
c. Rs. 0.25 Lakh as 90 man-days unskilled wages under MGNREGA.
 
“Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Housing for All (Rural) Mission” for Rural areas is being implemented during 2015-to 2022. This Mission assists implementing agencies through States and UTs to provide houses to all eligible families/beneficiaries by 2022. All statutory towns as per Census 2011 and Statutory Towns notified subsequently would be eligible for coverage under the Mission. Note: In this Mission, States/UTs will have the flexibility to include the Planning Areas (to the exclusion of rural areas) as notified with respect to Statutory Towns and such Planning Areas (to the exclusion of rural areas) as notified by Development Authorities.

The Mission is implemented as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) except for the component of credit linked subsidy which is implemented as a Central Sector Scheme by the Ministry of Housing and Rural Poverty Alleviation, Government of India.
It is implemented by Rural Local Bodies, Development Authorities, Housing Boards, etc. selected byState Government/SLSMC.
Beneficiary identification in PMAY (U) is to be linked to Aadhaar/Voter card/ other unique identification from Revenue Authority to avoid duplication.

Objectives

  • Ensure that the housing requirement of all rural poor including slum dwellers are met through different Programme verticals
  • The core objective is to provide central assistance to implementing agencies through States and UTs for providing houses to all eligible families/beneficiaries by 2022.
  • Provide pucca house with water connection, toilet & electricity facilities
  • Ensure that rural localities are slums free & that all citizens have access to basic services
  • Provide houses designed and constructed to meet requirements of structural safety against earthquake, flood, cyclones, landslides, etc. conforming to the National Building Code (NBC) and other relevant Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) codes

Beneficiary:

  • Economically weaker section (EWS), low-income groups (LIGs), and Middle Income Groups (MIGs).
