About District Panchayat

District Panchayat is established with an aim to develop villages mainly to carry out poverty eradication programs. For the organization, effectiveness, management, and proper care with a view of economic, social, and geographical situations, the District Panchayat is established at all district levels in the entire country. District Panchayat takes policy decisions on the matters relating to Panchayats. The District Panchayat and The Gram Panchayat. Gram panchayat is an important institution of self-government. The Key Roles of the District Panchayat are o supervise and monitor Health and Sanitation across Panchayat areas and allied schemes implemented by the Government, For making recommendations pertaining to public health, hospitals, health centres, sanitation, water supply, vaccination, and family planning and may others.

The major roles of the District Panchayat are mentioned below:

  • Day-to-day supervision, control and monitoring of subordinate Gram Panchayats administration.
  • To prepare the budget Estimate for the task assigned to the panchayat. To receive finance from the govt. for financial allocation & distribution of financial resources to the subordinate talukas & gram panchayats.

  • Annual gatherings, public receptions, and functions for the entertainment of mass.
  • Loan operations for subordinate’s panchayats.
  • Implementation of schemes related to SC/ST and OBC. Also the enforcement of implementation of un- touchable.
  • Financial and any other help can be extended for any activity shown under Anusuchi-3.
  • To perform duties and functions by panchayat under implementation or such functions and duties or work assigned by such law.
  • Litigation holds itself or litigation against panchayat, besides settlement return from agreement and litigation regarding.
